                Self Reflection

My whole journey in this class has been amazing and memorable. I remember walking into the class and feeling nervous, but who would have thought this would have been my favorite class. The energy in the class made me comfortable and feel like I belonged. The assigned work was very easy and always made me feel at ease. This was not a complicated class nor was there a complicated professor. She was always determined to make things easier for us and give us chances unlike other professors. Her energy provides others with the optimism to get their work done and feel accomplished.

I’ve had multiple assignments that I’ve favored and enjoyed. For example, the Malcolm X excerpt contained a very deep message and theme about systematic patterns. Reading about his ideas on becoming more educated and peaceful was inspirational. Another experience I enjoyed was working on the research paper. It gave me the opportunity to write and explore a topic according to my own interest instead of focusing on something I might not like or enjoy which can lead to less enthusiasm within the writing piece. Picking something out of my interest gave me the opportunity to put emotions and real thoughts in my essay making it seem more personal and realistic giving it a twist of interest and believability. It is easier to do work according to your interest because it gives you more of a positive writing process and outcome.

This class provided me with a chance to make special group friends. As the professor indulges us in a lot of group work it helps us to perform better and gain new ideas and information giving us new knowledge that might add on to either school work or real life. Being with my two friends helped me alot throughout this semester,as they gave me hope and fun memories making these few months feel like a real college experience. I am thankful for group work as it has led me and my group to become good friends. What I found most challenging in this course was keeping up with the portfolio seeing as to how I didn’t have much understanding in it. It seemed very confusing seeing as to how I had a hard time uploading work or trying to find access into my portfolio. Researching helped me to test myself by helping me to see what type of writer I am.

Seeing different types of information and using it as a way to explain my thesis statements and ideas while putting things together allowed me to recognize a pattern within myself. It made me think about the order in which I put my information and discover better ways to summarize the information I hold in my hand. Being in this class gave me the chance to improve on my writing as I developed new skills that increase my chances of perfecting my writing. As my professor guided me throughout these months giving me new ways to add more spice into my writing putting those methods to use has bought a big difference on paper.
